Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been fined for his goal post celebration.

Antonio Brown has been fined for having fun.

After an incredible celebration after a 71-yard punt return touchdown, Brown has reportedly been fined by the league for leaping on the goal post, according to Bill Phillips.

Brown’s celebration of his touchdown, was one of the best touchdown celebrations in recent history. The way he held onto the goal post before falling down was hilarious and worthy of the big touchdown that he scored, as the Steelers continued to rout the Indianapolis Colts.

Of course, the NFL doesn’t allow excessive celebrations, and those players that go too far with their celebrations are often fined. It’s a shame because it removes personality and ingenuity from young players that are making their mark in the league.

There was nothing profane about it and Brown was beyond excited to help his team extend their lead in a big win that they needed, which carried playoff implications with it.

He was flagged by officials on the play for excessive celebration, which can certainly be justified unlike a fine. There’s no room for fun when scoring an end zone.

A player can dance, but if they dare touch the goal post it’s end of story.
