Best: Zack Greinke

When the Arizona Diamondbacks jumped in and signed Zack Greinke from out of nowhere, every team in baseball was wondering just how the Diamondbacks got Greinke. Well they got him by throwing all the money in the world at him to come be the team’s ace.

The Diamondbacks gave Greinke a six-year $206 million contract, which is an absurdly high contract, but it’s also what the Diamondbacks needed, as the team doesn’t want to waste the great years of offense they have with bad pitching.

By getting Greinke, the Diamondbacks have an ace to go with a very good rotation and an offense that is near the top of the baseball. They became instant contenders in the National League West and now they are believing that they can go for it all.

Signing Greinke allowed the team to go trade for Shelby Miller, and now they are playing with house money with whatever deals that they decide to make. A great pitching staff and a great offense makes Arizona one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

They went from a team that was building to a team that is contending just by signing Greinke to a very large contract.
