High Salary W

Taylor Hall-Edmonton Oilers ($7,100): There are a few good options available tonight among the high-priced centers. Edmonton’s Taylor Hall plays on a bad team but should not be overlooked. He’s got 28 points in 28 games and has an average of 4.8 fantasy points. He last played on Sunday night and registered a goal and an assist, totaling seven fantasy points. Hall deserves to be in your lineup tonight and will even save you a bit compared to some of the other guys.

Phil Kessel-Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,300): Kessel has been a top fantasy producer for the past several seasons. He started slow this season, his first with the Penguins, but has turned it on as the year has gone on. He hasn’t scored in two games, but did light the lamp twice on December 1 in San Jose. Kessel has an excellent matchup against a Colorado team that’s currently ranked 25th in the league in goals allowed.

Max Pacioretty-Montreal Canadiens ($7,700): Pacioretty is the most expensive winger available tonight and ranks third with an average of 4.5 fantasy points per game. Even when he’s not scoring Pacioretty takes a ton of shots, something that adds up in terms of fantasy points. He has 25 total points this year and tonight faces the Bruins who are ranked 22nd in goals allowed per game.

High Value W

Brad Marchand-Boston Bruins ($5,700): Marchand still flys a bit under the fantasy radar, but is a good play on most nights. He’s got a tough matchup against Montreal but its an important game and one that the Bruins will be motivated to win. Marchand scored a goal and an assist on December 5 but even when he’s not scoring he’ll be able to get you fantasy points. Save some money and take him as a winger tonight. He is far cheaper than some of the other guys but is close to matching them in fantasy points.

Daniel Carr-Montreal Canadiens ($2,600): Carr started his first NHL game Saturday night and scored a goal while playing on the fourth line. His five fantasy points certainly rewarded anyone who took a chance on him. With the one goal in one game he’ll be on some radars tonight, though some may want to see more evidence of his skill. Carr is a high recommendation tonight, but at $2,600, you can’t really go wrong.

Tomas Hertl-San Jose Sharks ($4,500): Left winger Tomas Hertl has been a nice surprise in San Jose this season. He has 12 points in 26 games and has been a solid fantasy producer with a low price tag. He gets a game against Edmonton tonight, something that’s been great for opposing offensive players all season. Last night against Calgary he earned three fantasy points by way of four shots on net and two blocked shot.  Hertl will give you reasonable production for his price, allowing you to spend big on a top producer.
