Celtics guard Evan Turner whipped out a 360 dunk after getting loose for a fast break

Evan Turner has been a headache for the Boston Celtics for most of the season. For a team whose success is predicated on strong teamwork and excelling in certain roles on both ends of the floor under Brad Stevens, how Turner has played this season stands in stark contrast to that mantra. All of this, of course, made how he finished a fast break on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls all the more conflicting.

Just about midway into the second quarter, Turner stripped Jimmy Butler and bolted down the floor on a wide-open fast break. Turner then capped off the break by throwing down a 360 dunk, because why not:

There’s no denying the impressiveness of someone knocking down a 360 dunk in a game, even if there were no defenders around him. However, it just feels wrong with Turner, the guy shooting 15.2 percent from three this season and just 40.6 percent from the floor while detracting from what the Celtics could be potentially, to get the shine from doing it.

Turner has largely been a headache through his first five seasons in the NBA and that’s coming to fruition in Boston this year, as well. Plays like this show that he has obvious talent that could theoretically be used to make good things happen for a given team, but that doesn’t seem to be the type of thing that Turner is interested in.
