Cleveland Cavaliers: What a surprise… It’s LeBron James!

Well, who would have seen this coming? The best all-around player in the NBA is the Cavaliers’ MVP. This, alongside Stephen Curry for the Warriors, is the most obvious pick across all 30 teams. That doesn’t mean the Cavs are without talent, of course, it just means that LeBron is their best player at both ends of the floor and his passing and court vision brings out the best in everyone else.

We’ve known it for years, but it’s what makes James such a special player. Even on a team with two other All-Stars who are both elite in their own respective ways, LeBron is still miles ahead. He can play and defend all positions when necessary, and can do more for a team than nearly ever player that’s gone before him in the history of the NBA. His vision is incredible, and the way he reads the floor to set up teammates in any situation or find a lane to the paint and power his way to the basket makes him a near unstoppable force.

The Cavaliers have had a somewhat turbulent season so far, as despite their first place in the East, they’ve lost three straight games to the Wizards, Pelicans and Heat. Despite the latter, those aren’t teams you can lose to considering their respective form. If we put that aside for a moment, though, there’s no denying the talent that LeBron is showcasing even if there are aspects of his game (such as his three point shooting) that have been off so far this season.

Few players can average 26.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game and carry a team whenever necessary, yet LeBron is doing that once again this season.

Except for some strange moments such as invading a Raptors dance performance and walking off the court without a timeout against the Hawks, LeBron has once again been a force while leading one of the league’s top contenders. Even though he’s been going under the radar amidst Stephen Curry mania, King James has still led his Cavs (who lack two starters due to injury) to the high levels of the NBA power rankings.
