42. <p>Since the 49ers came away victorious in their Sunday game against the Chicago Bears, let’s start with the positives. Who, on God’s green Earth, would’ve ever thought that they’d be lauding Blaine Gabbert following a December road contest up in frigid Soldier Field? Welp, it’s been that kind of season.</p> <p>Here’s a fun fact, for the trivia folks. Sunday’s victory was Gabbert’s first ever outdoor road victory. Let’s just let that sink in with a mixture of bewilderment, and weary happiness.</p> <p>And now for the reality of the season. Life is not good for the 49ers this year. If you’re going into every contest hoping for Gabby Blaine to bail out the team with a stellar victory, then, well, the storm clouds have circled and any bright moments are probably just the eye of a terrible storm.</p> <p>Looking forward, the Niners’ schedule is really a toss-up. Sunday’s game against the ouroboros Browns should be a win. And after the Packers stole the Lions’ soul last Thursday, who knows how that team will respond. Same goes for a Rams team cleaning out the coaching cobwebs early in the year.</p> <p>There’s a chance that the Niners finish 7-8. But, if you’re a fan of the team, is that what you want? Despite the rumors of a reconciliation with Kaepernick, you can pretty much bank on him being shown the door. This means a quarterback will be of utmost importance.
