Without question, one of the hottest teams in all the NFL thus far this season has been the NFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals. With their 10-2 record, there have been a lot of players on this team that have contributed to that success and put this team in position to potentially win a Super Bowl, one of those players being tight end Tyler Eifert.
And with his performances on the field this year to help this team get to where they’re at, as expected, his popularity is very much on the rise.
A good way of gauging a player’s popularity is by looking at how many of their jerseys are flying off the shelves, and there is certainly a good trend going for the former Notre Dame star.
According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, as the season has gone on and the Bengals have been rolling through opponents, he’s gone from barely being in the top-10 to making a legitimate run at the No. 1 spot in regards to his position on the field.
Of course, it’ll be mighty difficult to take down the man in front of him for that top spot, but we have seen crazier things happen, so you never know. If the Bengals keep their winning ways up, especially heading into the playoffs, then he could make a play for the spot occupied by Rob Gronkowski.
It really is no surprise that Eifert’s popularity has been soaring. On the season for the Bengals, he’s been one of the more reliable threats for quarterback Andy Dalton, catching 46 passes for 522 yards and 12 touchdowns. When it comes to tight ends, there are few better at finding the end zone this season than Eifert.
And now, there are very few better at selling jerseys as well.
