With big-name free agents coming off the board daily, it’s time for a few inactive MLB teams to get aggressive quickly.

As expected, the annual MLB Winter Meetings led to a flurry of activity in the free agent market and brought upon numerous trades.

Several of the best available players have found new homes over the past few days. The Arizona Diamondbacks did their part to get the pitching market rolling by signing Zack Greinke to a massive contract before trading a huge package of prospects to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Shelby Miller.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs set the tone in the position player market by adding Ben Zobrist on Wednesday. Chicago wasn’t done yet and nabbed the best position player available in Jason Heyward on Friday for $184 million over eight years.

Those teams, in addition to a few others, have to be very happy with how the offseason is playing out so far. The clubs who missed out on those free agents will now have to move on to a backup plan.

With those big names setting the market, things should move a little quicker now. There are still some great free agents and trade targets available, but a few teams need to act fast to avoid being in trouble to start 2016.

From contenders who need to round out their rosters to rebuilding teams who have yet to start selling off parts, a few clubs need to be aggressive over the remainder of the offseason.
