Chip Kelly slams report about calling LeSean McCoy

LeSean McCoy may hold ill will toward Chip Kelly, but the Eagles head coach immediately discredited a story about a phone call.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly and Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy will not be friends any time soon. Bad blood has brewed between the two since the Eagles decided to trade McCoy to the Bills for inside linebacker Kiko Alonso. McCoy has been angry with Kelly since, and he even publicly denounced Kelly for getting rid of the “good black players.”

This feud came to an ugly head when the Eagles faced the Bills. The Eagles escaped with a 23-20 win, leaving a bitter taste in McCoy’s mouth. It was reported that Kelly tried to call his former running back before being hung up on. The Eagles head coach caught wind of this rumor and called it false.

Although McCoy is clearly fumed with the trade and losing to the Eagles, Kelly slammed the reporter who made up this story and accused them of trying to stir up a story. Kelly is known for not willing to take any nonsense, and he showed his no-nonsense personality once again while debunking the rumor of him calling McCoy.

It does not look like Kelly holds the same resentment toward McCoy, but he is clearly not focusing on trivial matters such as McCoy’s departure from the Eagles. It remains to be seen whether the two will ever patch things up, but McCoy’s silence in his post-game interview says it all.
