Aldo had previously been undefeated over 10 years, including his entire tenure in the UFC, and had been the promotion’s only champion in the division. He also entered UFC 194 as the pound-for-pound No. 1 in the world.

Not only has McGregor taken Aldo’s belt, he thinks he has taken his spot in the pound-for-pound rankings as well.

“I believe so. I believe there are many great fighters. There are people who do great things. But when you combine it all together, when you combine the whole package, the whole animal, that is the fight game, I don’t think there’s nobody that does it better than me,” McGregor said, via FOX Sports.

“I think I am the pound-for-pound No. 1.”

Some would argue that the true pound-for-pound fighter is Jon Jones, but McGregor is adding in the value he brings outside the cage as well.

McGregor is a promoter’s dream, saying outlandish things to draw attention, working media unlike many fighters, and truly selling fights.

He also has a tendency to take that blend up to a mother level when he makes predictions for fights that then come true in the cage.
