A.J. McCarron comes in to replace the injured Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and promptly delivers at 66-yard touchdown strike to A.J. Green.
The Cincinnati Bengals were without starting quarterback Andy Dalton who suffered a thumb injury versus their division rival in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Backup quarterback A.J. McCarron had to come in place of Dalton down 13 points and promptly deliver a 66-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver A.J. Green to cut the Bengals’ deficit to six.

McCarron starred at the University of Alabama and was a Heisman finalist in 2013, as one of the most prolific passers in school history. After getting drafted by the Bengals in 2014 he was relegated to being a backup to Dalton in his first two years in the NFL.
When Dalton went down, McCarron came in and showed that he can play at the professional level. His pass to the former standout receiver from the Georgia Bulldogs was a thing of beauty. McCarron hit Green right between the numbers on the Steelers’ 30-yard line. Green then shed two tacklers inside of Pittsburgh’s 20-yard line to go in for the impressive touchdown reception.
McCarron was not particularly known for his arm talent in college, being more of a game manager until his senior year in Tuscaloosa. However on that aerial strike, he proves that he attack an NFL defense, although the Steelers isn’t one of the league’s better pass defenses in 2015. McCarron will have to play well for the rest of Week 14 for the Bengals to hold on to the No. 1 seed in the AFC entering Week 15.
