Patriots vs Texans, 27-6: Full highlights, final score and more
The Patriots traveled to Houston to try and end their two-game losing skid against the Texans.
Looking to end a two-game skid and put together a nice win streak in the final weeks of the regular season, the New England Patriots had to take on the suddenly-hot Houston Texans on Sunday night at NRG Stadium.
It wasn’t exactly a high-scoring affair early on as the Patriots went into halftime with a 17-6 lead, leaving the door wide open for a Texans comeback. Houston was playing for the right to take a one-game lead in the AFC South which is impressive seeing as it started the season very poorly.
After a gritty first half with little scoring from both sides, the second half was more of the same, turning into a sack fest. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made a return after missing a game with a leg injury while Brian Hoyer left with an apparent head injury in the second half.
New England avoided the three-game losing streak emphatically, absolutely demolishing the Texans, 27-6 on the road.
Three Stars
Tom Brady had a solid game, playing a steady, complete game and ending a two-game losing streak. He passed for 225 and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
Rob Gronkowski made a heck of a return, catching four passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. The big tight end didn’t skip a beat.
Jadeveon Clowney had a coming out party for the Texans. The former No. 1 overall pick had his first multi-sack game, with two, and had seven total tackles as well.

Betting Odds
The Patriots were five-point favorites in this road battle against Houston and the over/under was set at 46.5 points. They easily covered the spread, winning by 21, but the two teams fell short of the over.
Next Week
New England will host the Tennessee Titans next week who have been struggling mightily this season at 3-10. The Patriots will need to look at that one as a must-win since they’re obviously a much stronger team and they need to extend their lead in the AFC East.
Houston will be hitting the road to play the Indianapolis Colts who might have Andrew Luck back. The Texans will need to win that one in order to stay ahead in the playoff hunt in the AFC South and they’ve done a solid job of that even after a slow start to the year.
