The Oakland Raiders don’t understand math.
The Raiders are playing for their lives on Sunday afternoon at Sports Authority Field against the Denver Broncos. Oakland is 5-7 and trying to take down the 10-2 Broncos, and took a 15-12 lead early in the fourth quarter. Yet, instead of kicking the extra point to make it a four-point lead, the Raiders went rogue and attempted a two-point conversion.
Of course, the Raiders did not convert and the Broncos can now tie the game with a field goal. Considering Denver has already hit four of them, it seems like Oakland head coach Jack Del Rio either can’t do basic math or made one of the worst calls of the National Football League season.
Here are some of the reactions from the most level-headed place on Earth, Twitter.
@RAIDERS what the Hell kick the field goal 4 up but No we SCREW it up big time come on man DAMN that was beyond words UGLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen many awful coaching calls, but #Raiders going for 2 instead of kicking EP to go up by 4 in 4th Q? Horrendously stupid. #OAKvsDEN

The Raiders scored to go up by 3 and then went for two.

True story.
What did the Raiders just go for 2?

Now, a theory is coming out about this ridiculously bad decision…
Raiders long snapper Jon Condo got hurt recovering the muffed punt. May be why Raiders went for two there.

Did Condo get hurt recovering that fumble? Only thing that makes sense.

Which leads to this thought…
If Condo is hurt, Raiders had better not have to punt.

Damnit, Oakland. Damnit.
How is there not one other player on the roster who can make a long snap? Center Rodney Hudson can’t get in there and get the job done? Hell, the man is getting paid over $8 million per year. Make it happen.
