Spencer Ware injury: Leaving game, goes to locker room
Spencer Ware went to the locker room with an undisclosed injury.
The Kansas City Chiefs watched another running back go down with an injury on Sunday afternoon, when Spencer Ware stayed down after taking a hit in the second quarter. Ware has become one of the best late-season fantasy options this year, helping many fantasy owners who already had Jamaal Charles and Charcandrick West.
Ware was injured against the San Diego Chargers, the same team he broke out against only three weeks ago. Ware was a sixth-round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks before being cut due to some run-ins with the law. The Chiefs picked him up and he has been terrific in filling in for Charles and West. In that aforementioned game against San Diego, Ware went for 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.
For many, this is the first week of fantasy football playoffs. Should Ware not return, that would be a huge blow for some folks who are hoping to score a victory and move onto the semifinals in their respective leagues. Should you advance and Ware has to miss any real time, you can always go with West, who is back and seeing the bulk of the carries.
