Who is Andy Dalton’s backup?
By Josh Hill
The Cincinnati Bengals have lost Andy Dalton for an undermined amount of time — so who is going to welcome opponents to the jungle under center?
The Cincinnati Bengals are without quarterback andy Dalton for the rest of their Week 14 matchup against the Steelers — and possibly longer. The quarterback and once-time MVP candidate this season left Sunday’s game with a thumb injury and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the contest. While any injury to Dalton is unsettling, the fact that he might miss some time is even less encouraging for a fan base used to not having nice things.
All hope is not lost though, as Dalton’s backup is going to be taking the reigns — something fans have been curious about for a while now. Every since Dalton has struggled to be consistent, fans have bene wondering if or when the next era under center will begin.
So who is that backup?
Dalton’s backup is former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the former Bama quarterback, as he wasn’t a top prospect when he came out of college and was a fifth round draft pick and hasn’t received hardly any playing time in the NFL since then. The doesn’t mean he’s not equipped to start and carry the Bengals, as his leadership and skills will be tested to the fullest.
