In the wake of Rusev’s return and his joining of the League of Nations, “The Big Guy” Ryback stepped in to try and stop The Bulgarian Brute. After going back and forth for several weeks on RAW, the match was set between the two behemoths at WWE TLC 2015.

Ryback looked like the aggressor right out of the gate, gaining the upper hand relatively quickly over Rusev. Ryback even took to a high-flying crossbody, but was at his best using his powerful arsenal of moves:

The Bulgarian Brute then got thrown into the corner where The Big Guy tried to beat him down with strikes. However, Rusev powered out and changed to momentum with a big powerbomb:

Rusev then began trying to wear down The Ryback with various submissions, but The Big Guy wouldn’t be held down. This led to a test of strength as both men tried to suplex one another, a contest ultimately won by Ryback who got back on top of the action soon after.

Ryback began hitting more strikes and suplexes before going up top yet again for another improbable crossbody:

It looked as if Ryback was about to secure a win, but The Bulgarian Brute fled the ring. However, The Big Guy went after him, grabbed him by his ponytail, and started dragging him back to the ring. That’s when Rusev pushed Ryback into Lana as Rusev’s woman faked an injury that allowed Rusev to hit a wicked superkick:

After that, Rusev went for a pin, but could only get a two-count. He tried to lock in The Accolade, but Ryback tried his hardest to not let it get locked in. The Bulgarian ultimately did, though, and caused Ryback to pass out:

This gave Rusev the win at WWE TLC.
