1. Making Playoffs Absolves All

To make the playoffs the Colts will need to win their division unless some crazy things happens and they win out to finish 9-7 overall. Yet, more likely than not, they won’t win all three of their remaining games. If Pagano leads the Colts to the playoffs, anything is possible at that point. It’s possible Luck may be ready to return by then, and the Colts’ playoff experience will definitely benefit the team in their potential matches.

No matter what people may think of Pagano this season, if he leads the team to a playoff berth for a fourth-straight year, then there’s no way he can be fired. Making the postseason in sports absolves all wrong done during the season. Once teams make the playoffs, the underdog team make runs and often come away with more success than expected.

All in all, the Colts ownership and higher executives will not be able to fired Pagano with a playoff berth. If they do, the backlash will come in hot and the fans will let them hear about their mistake. Pagano has three games to save his job to many, but no matter what his winning pedigree should be enough to keep in around in Indy for another season.
