Broncos worked out Trent Richardson
The Denver Broncos are looking at Trent Richardson.
Denver is sitting at 10-3 and likely to win its fifth straight AFC West title. Yet, there are plenty of problems for the offense, which does not have a stable quarterback or any semblance of a run game. Somehow, this led to Denver working out free-agent running back Trent Richardson, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Richardson is supposedly only be looked at for a long-term view, perhaps to bring him in next season. It would make more sense that general manager John Elway is desperate for a spark and is hoping the once first-round pick has something that other teams have missed.
Richardson was one of the worst picks in National Football League history. The Cleveland Browns took a shot on him with a top-three pick, only to trade him the following season to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round selection. The Browns turned that chip into Johnny Manziel. Ugh.
If the Broncos are looking at Richardson, that is serious bad news for those boys. Richardson has absolutely no vision and could not average four yards per carry. Putting him behind Denver’s offensive line would be a full-blown disaster but heck, it might be worth a shot at this point. Last week, the Broncos allowed only 126 total yards to the Oakland Raiders and still lost due to an inept offense.
