Buccaneers at Rams: Preview and prediction
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against the St. Louis Rams on Thursday Night Football.
It’s going to be a night of off-the-wall uniforms on Thursday night, when the Tampa Buccaneers take on the St. Louis Rams. Both teams will be participating in the NFL’s “Color Rush” and their exists a chance that the uniforms might just outshine the game itself.
Both of these teams are looking to finish strong in 2015, with Tampa Bay particularly looking to find a way into the playoff race if possible. The odds aren’t good for them, but their season has been nothing short of a success, as they have absolutely thrived under rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, who looks like he is a star in the making in this league.
The Rams meanwhile are trying to save their jobs and perhaps could be on the move to Los Angeles, if things shake out as such. What started as a season of promise for St. Louis, quickly turned into a nightmare. The Rams went on a lengthy losing streak and the team is now trying to salvage a .500 season.
It won’t be easy on Thursday night for St. Louis, despite being the favorites. Their secondary is depleted and they’re banged up along the defensive line. Their offensive line is a mess and they don’t have an answer at quarterback, and the receivers are average at best. Still, they have enough pieces on defense and Todd Gurley at running back to pull out a much needed win at home.
This is a chance for Jameis Winston to shine with the whole world watching. His growth as a quarterback in his first year has been unbelievable, and if he can find his targets down the field, the Buccaneers could overcome their December road woes and establish a new trend going forward. It should be a physical football game between the two teams.
Pick: Tampa Bay 19, St. Louis 13
