Memphis Grizzlies vs Chicago Bulls

After finishing as one of the Western Conference’s top teams a season ago and a real threat to make a run at the NBA Finals, the Memphis Grizzlies have begun a little sluggish out of the gates this year. It’s clear that Zach Randolph is aging as his points per game average is down to just 13.7 and his rebounds per game is at 8.5. He’s still one of the toughest guys in the league, though.

Marc Gasol hasn’t quite skipped a beat from a year ago as he’s averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game while adding 7.8 rebounds. There’s still a good chance this team can get going in the near future and a win against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center would be a heck of a start.

The Chicago Bulls have the second-best record at home this season in the Eastern Conference and will have a good shot to extend that against the 14-12 Grizzlies who are just .500 on the road. It’s been a slow climb for Derrick Rose since his latest slew of injuries, but he’s starting to get some of his old form back despite averaging just 12.9 points and 5.5 assists per game — far from the MVP we used to know.

Jimmy Butler has taken over star player duties as he leads Chicago in scoring with 20.7 points per game and he’s looking more and more like the future every day.
