Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets
With the fourth-worst record in the NBA this season, the Brooklyn Nets are not quite the same team that made the playoffs a year ago and it will be even tougher this season as the Eastern Conference has improved drastically. What this means is that it’s going to be hard for sub-.500 teams to make the postseason.

Luckily the Nets are playing at home because they’re absolutely atrocious on the road, winning just 1-of-12 games on the year. Brook Lopez is still playing at an All-Star caliber level, however, averaging 19.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Thaddeus Young has been a pleasant surprise, averaging 16.0 points and a team-high 9.0 rebounds.
A win over the Miami Heat would be a huge confidence boost for this struggling group, but that won’t be too easy over the East’s No. 2 team. This Heat teams looks far different from what it did when LeBron James was still in town as Dwyane Wade is playing great, as is Chris Bosh, but Hassan Whiteside has emerged as a legitimate post threat and there are solid role players aplenty.
Guys like Gerald Green, Goran Dragic, Luol Deng, Tyler Johnson and Justise Winslow have all contributed to helping this team climb up the conference standings. There’s a real shot for the Heat to take down LeBron in the playoffs this season and become the East’s top squad.
