NFL Playoffs: 5 reasons the Buffalo Bills will make it
By Josh Wilson
The Buffalo Bills are very much in the running to make the playoffs, but they need help.
It was back in 1999, the last season the Buffalo Bills made the playoffs. If the team was to miss the playoffs this season, it would be the 16th straight year that they missed out on extra football. For some Bills fans who remember the days when the team went to four straight Super Bowls, this isn’t cutting it for the franchise. Buffalo, although not that big of a pro sports town, has had a tough time. The Buffalo Sabres aren’t winning, and lately the Bills haven’t either.
Bringing in Rex Ryan this offseason was supposed to change that, and for the most part it has, just not as drastically as some would have liked. The Bills are still in the running to make the playoffs this late in the season, which hasn’t happened since the early 2000s. Ryan appears to be excited to be in Buffalo, something other coaches have not shown. The rough winters and incredible snow storms scare candidates for the job away, but Ryan embraced the Western New York lifestyle.
The Bills lost 23-20 in Week 14 to the Philadelphia Eagles, which is not something that had fans optimistic about the playoffs. Despite there not being a general feel of the Bills making the playoffs, even from the fans in Orchard Park, the team should keep their heads up, because there are certainly reasons they will make the playoffs.
