The St. Louis Rams have placed Robert Quinn on injured reserve.

It has been this kind of season for the ever-woeful St. Louis Rams. On Thursday, the team announced that star defensive end Robert Quinn would be going on season-ending injured reserve, per Pro Football Talk.

Quinn has been one of the best pass-rushers in the National Football League since being drafted by St. Louis back in 2011. Quinn’s best year came in 2013 when he recorded 19 sacks to lead the NFC, leading to a Pro Bowl appearance.

This was the year the Rams were supposed to compete for a playoff spot and perhaps even in the tough NFC West, but it was not to be. St. Louis went out and added a bunch of new faces including quarterback Nick Foles, running back Todd Gurley and defensive tackle Nick Fairley. While Gurley is one of the best rookie running backs of all-time, Fairley has been underwhelming and Foles has been so bad that he got benched in favor of the immortal Case Keenum.

In this offseason, look for the Rams to not only perhaps be changing postal codes, but also head coaches. Jeff Fisher has been a failure in his four seasons with the team, likely paving the way for a new lead man. General manager Les Snead will likely also find himself on the next flight out, after failing to deliver a playoff team.
