It’s Week 15 and time to put these five NFL teams on upset alert

There are only three weeks left in the 2015 NFL season and, though the top of the NFC is basically decided, not much else is in terms of the postseason. There are still a number of potential wildcard teams in both the NFC and AFC that could emerge, there are still several divisional titles that will be at stake down the stretch, and mass insanity is almost surely set to ensue over these last three weeks.

There’s perhaps no better places to look in terms of potentially crazy things that could happen at the end of the NFL season than the AFC South and the NFC East. Yes, neither division is any good at all, and most would agree that whichever teams win those divisions is likely going to be the underdog in the first round of the NFL Playoffs. However, that doesn’t change the fact that those divisions are far from decided with a cluster of teams at the top of the standings.

The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans will square off on Sunday afternoon with huge AFC South implications in the matchup. Both teams enter the contest with a 6-7 record and sitting atop the division. However, the winner of the clash in Week 15 will undoubtedly be in the driver’s seat, though the Jacksonville Jaguars are lurking just one game behind the division leaders.

Meanwhile, the NFC East is equally as undecided with the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, and New York Giants all sitting at 6-7 and all three having potentially troublesome match-ups in Week 15. If anyone were to pull off an upset in those contests, though, they’d have to be considered the favorites to win that dumpster fire of a division.

There’s more insanity beyond those two divisions, as well. The NFC North is still a huge question mark with the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers duking it out atop the division. Likewise, the AFC North is intriguing, as the Pittsburgh Steelers look like world-beaters with the Cincinnati Bengals now being without Andy Dalton for the rest of the regular season.

Things are heating up more than ever now and the playoff implications with almost every game only add to that. An upset could change the landscape of the postseason at this point and these five teams should be on upset alert in Week 15.
