4. New Orleans Saints

Playing at home on Monday Night Football against a Detroit Lions team that looked completely deflated by their loss on the Motown Miracle Hail Mary, it’s not surprising that the New Orleans Saints would be favored. However, when you really start looking into it, the Lions can’t be counted out in this matchup even remotely.

For one, the Saints’ defense has been bad enough on a consistent basis this season that it’s hard to trust them in almost any matchup at all. Particularly with Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, and the propensity that the Lions have for unleashing a lethal passing attack at times, they should be able to have success against inarguably one of the worst secondaries in the NFL come Monday night.

Moreover, the Lions should theoretically be able to have success on the other side of the ball thanks to the absence of Mark Ingram. The likes of Tim Hightower doesn’t exactly strike fear in any defense and Detroit has shown that Ziggy Ansah and company can get a pass-rush going without sending the house. If they’re able to do that and sit back in coverage, this could actually be a long day for the Saints and wind up being another disappointing outing for them.
