player. 35.
Getting their quarterback more blocking was a priority for the Tennessee Titans and that goal was accomplished. Next on the agenda is figuring out what ails their defense. It’s a unit that is good in some areas like defending the pass (9th overall) but is still allowing 25 points per game and is soft against the run at 111.5 yards per game.

One area that has caused problems is safety. While free agent addition Da’Norris Searcy has lived up to his contract thus far, fellow starter Michael Griffin continues to remain a problem. He has struggled in coverage and missed 11 tackles as well. If there was a spot needing an upgrade, it’s his.

That is why is terrific fortune the Titans have Clemson safety Jayron Kearse falling into their lap. His talent and production in college would indicate he should’ve gone in the first round but he somehow fell through. A fierce hitter with corner-type speed, he sports a long 6’4″ frame that makes him a difficult target to throw at in coverage. Taking the ball away is fast becoming his specialty. If Tennessee can help him clean up his fundamental issues, they’ll have a possible star in the making.
. S. Clemson. Jayron Kearse. 32
