Baylor. Spencer Drango. 55. player. 55.
Injuries continue to mount on Ben Roethlisberger, which has to scare the Pittsburgh Steelers. They haven’t seen deep playoff participation since 2010. Big Ben isn’t getting any young and can’t afford to keep absorbing these injuries. That makes protecting him all the more pivotal to keeping their Super Bowl window open.

Granted, the Steelers already have a pretty stout offensive line, led by guards David DeCastro and Ramon Foster. That being said, there is no such thing as too many good blockers. The beauty of interior linemen is they normally can play more than one position, either moving to center or even outside to tackle depending on their athletic prowess.

Spencer Drango is one of those versatile types. During his time at Baylor he has logged snaps at both guard and tackle with equally solid results. His footwork and length allow him to fit on the edges but his imposing size, knowledge and heavy hands make a move to the interior possible as well. It comes down to where the Steelers would need him most. One thing is for sure. It won’t take him long to adjust.
. OT
