Detroit Pistons vs Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have been one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference for years now. Even without a completely healthy Derrick Rose, the Bulls have been a tough team to play. Now that Rose is getting healthier, there’s a serious chance this team could make a jump from playoff contender to NBA title contender.

Jimmy Butler is the real player to keep an eye on for the Bulls these days as Rose still competes to get back to MVP form. Butler leads the team in points with 20.8 points per game, but is shooting a mere 33 percent from long range. Pau Gasol is averaging a double-double in the post, averaging 15.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

On the other hand, the Detroit Pistons are looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2009 when they traded Chauncey Billups for an over-the-hill Allen Iverson and the franchise has been downhill ever since. However, Stan Van Gundy is putting the Pistons back together and he’s really having a solid effect on the franchise.

Andre Drummond has been one of the most impressive big men in the league so far this season. Next to Anthony Davis, Drummond may have the best numbers of any post player, averaging 17.7 points and 16.2 rebounds per game. Reggie Jackson has also been a saving grace for the Pistons, averaging a team-high 20.1 points and 6.3 assists per game.
