The Cardinals kept rolling on the road against the Eagles for their 12th win of the 2015 NFL season
54. 40. 32. Final. 17
The Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles looked as if they were going to be involved in a back-and-forth affair on Sunday Night Football from Lincoln Financial Field in the first half. Each team scored a touchdown and a field goal in the first 1.5 quarters of the action as the score was tied at 10-10 well into the second quarter of the action. However, Cardinals rookie running back David Johnson was just getting started on what would turn out to be a monster night as he filled in for injured Arizona backs Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington.
Johnson simply exploded in every facet of the game. He exploded for a beastly run at the end of the first half to give the Cardinals a seven-point lead going into the locker room for halftime and came back for more at the start of the second half. He added another touchdown to pull Arizona even further ahead and then the defense stepped up for the Cards to take it home.
Though the Eagles and Sam Bradford added a long touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews to help make the deficit not quite as enormous, the Philadelphia offense was absolutely swarmed in the second half by the Cardinals defense. They forced fumbles, pressured Bradford relentlessly, and even picked off Bradford and took it back for a touchdown. Arizona was dominant in the second half and rode that to their 12th win of 2015.
Three stars
David Johnson couldn’t be contained on Sunday Night Football as he had by far the best night of his young career. He took 29 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns on the night and added four catches for 42 yards for good measure.
Deone Bucannon was all over the place in the Cardinals secondary in this game. In addition to grabbing a pick-six in the second half, Bucannon also led the team in tackles with 11.
Jordan Matthews was great for the Eagles despite the huge loss for the team as a whole. He finished with eight catches for 159 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.

Odds
The Cardinals were 3.5-point favorites in this matchup, a spread which they handily covered with the blowout victory. The two teams predictably combined to hit the over on the 51-point O/U line
Next Week
The Cardinals will be back in the desert next week for a huge NFC matchup with playoff implications against the Green Bay Packers.
The Eagles will try to keep playoff hopes alive at home again next week as they take on NFC East rival, the Washington Redskins.
