Chiefs at Ravens: Full highlights and final score
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens.
Kansas City needed to beat Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon to stay in the AFC playoff picture. It got the job done. The Chiefs won 34-14, winning on the backs on two defensive touchdowns along with a stingy offensive effort.
Baltimore could not get much going throughout the day, with Jimmy Clausen starting at quarterback instead of Matt Schaub. Clausen actually threw for 281 yards including a first-half Hail Mary to Kamar Aiken. However, Clausen also threw a pick-six to Marcus Peters in the fourth quarter. Peters ended up with two interceptions.
Highlights
Three Stars
1. Charcandrick West
West has been a huge player for the Chiefs since Jamaal Charles went down in Week 5. On Sunday, West ran for 76 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown, which came in the first quarter on a 38-yard jaunt. West had the bulk of the carries because Spencer Ware was dealing with a rib injury throughout the week.
2. Kamar Aiken
Aiken has been the best receiver on the Ravens since Steve Smith tore his Achilles tendon against San Diego earlier this season. Aiken had a very nice day against one of the best secondaries in the league, going for eight receptions and 128 yards with one touchdown.
3. Alex Smith
Smith was nothing special throughout the day, but he kept the ball moving in key spots. Smith completed 21-of-25 throws for 171 yards and a touchdown, avoiding the interceptions as always. Smith has been getting the job done for Kansas City, keeping the offense on schedule.
Odds
Kansas City was favored by seven points and easily covered the spread against Baltimore.
Next Week
Kansas City is hosting the Cleveland Browns at Arrowhead Stadium while Baltimore is finishing out its home slate against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
