New York Giants playoff scenario following Week 15
By Mike Dyce
Here are the playoff scenarios facing the New York Giants after Week 15 of the 2015 NFL season.
The New York Giants are still in play for an NFL playoff spot, despite losing to the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. The Giants gave it their all though and came from behind to nearly upset the previously undefeated Panthers, but a last-second field goal gave Carolina the win.
The loss drops the Giants to 6-8 and puts them behind the 7-7 Washington Redskins in the NFC East. It also eliminates them from any kind of desperation hope for a Wild Card spot. They could still win the NFC East though.
If the Redskins lose their final two games they’ll drop to 7-9 and if the Giants win their final two games they could finish 8-8. That would give them an outright claim to the NFC East title and a playoff berth, if the Philadelphia Eagles don’t mess with the equation. The Eagles, who are 6-7, play the 11-2 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Night Football.
There are still scenarios where the Giants, Redskins and Eagles could finish tied in some combination to force a cluster at the top of NFC East which would force tie-breakers to come into the equation.
