The Miami Dolphins need a new head coach, and that could end up being Chuck Pagano.
When the Dolphins fired Joe Philbin earlier this year, it opened up a job that seemingly nobody wanted. The Dolphins are a mess, they have a ton of holes to fill and need some help all over the place with development. It’s not a job that a big name is going to flock to, but
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins could very well look at hiring Chuck Pagano if he’s fired by the Colts at the end of the season.
"Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Pagano will be a hot coaching candidate if he hits the market. The Miami Dolphins, who may be looking for more than just the next promising coordinator, could be looking outside the box for their opening."
This all really depends on if the Colts fire Pagano, which looks like a real possibility at this point. They may win the AFC South and make the playoffs, but Jim Irsay has been looking for a reason to fire his head coach and just about everyone expects that to happen at the end of the season regardless of how far the Colts get.
Pagano is a pretty decent option for the Dolphins, but he’s hardly a quick fix option. That being said, he’s a lot better of an option than Miami was looking at when Philbin was fired and could help set the team on the right path for the first time in too many years.
