Portland Trail Blazers vs Miami Heat

Losing LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum really took a big toll on the Portland Trail Blazers. Going from one of the top teams in the Western Conference to an 11-17 squad through the first third of the 2015-16 season just goes to show that Damian Lillard can’t do it all.

Lillard, however, has been one of the best point guards in the entire league. He’s averaging 24.3 points and 6.7 assists with 4.6 rebounds per game. If Portland is going to make any sort of push for the playoffs it’s going to be up to him and the new and improved C.J. McCollum. The latter is also averaging over 20 points per game while shooting 40 percent from long range.

With a more competitive Eastern Conference than ever before, the Miami Heat know that there’s only three games separating the No. 1 team in the conference and No. 9. A loss at any point in the East could move a team down two or three spots.

Dwyane Wade has the Heat firing on all cylinders, sitting at 15-10 and just 2.5 games out of first place in the conference. He’s averaging a team-high 18.5 points along with 4.4 assists. Chris Bosh is also playing like he’s supposed to, adding 17.0 points and 8.2 rebounds of his own per game. This team has a real shot to make a run at the NBA title.
