The NFL Draft is going to be here sooner than you think, but what does the current order look like.
We are so close to the NFL Playoffs, and teams are fighting for the coveted 12 slots to make a run at the Super Bowl. But there are a handful of teams already out of the playoff picture and already looking at their equivalent to the postseason — the NFL Draft.
Teams like the Seahawks, Packers and Patriots have used the Draft to build winners that have competed for Super Bowls and won them in the very recent past. That’s what teams like the Browns, Ravens and others are trying to do with the draft as they try to get better the cheap way and remain strong over the long haul.
Here’s a look at the updated NFL Draft Order after Sunday’s Week 15 action:
1. Browns
2. Titans
3. Ravens
4. Cowboys
5. Chargers
6. Niners
7. Lions
8. Bears
9. Jaguars
10. Dolphins
11. Saints
12. Bills
13. Colts
14. Giants
15. Raiders
16. Rams
17. Buccaneers
18. Eagles
19. Falcons
20. Texans
21. Redskins
22. Chiefs
23. Vikings
24. Jets
25. Steelers
26. Seahawks
27. Broncos
28. Packers
29. Bengals
30. Cardinals31. Patriots*
32. Panthers
The Patriots aren’t going to be getting a first-round pick this spring thanks to the whole DeflateGate scandal, so there will technically only be 31 selections made in the first-round this year. That shouldn’t effect the order too much, but it does take away the Patriots ability to snag another productive first-rounder or use it to trade back and stock up.
