Round 1. Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

The defensive line was terrible in 2015, but with the biggest impact players like Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa and Mississippi defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche likely off the board the Colts turn to their next biggest need, someone to give quarterback Andrew Luck some time to throw.

At 6’7″ and 315 pounds, Taylor Decker from Ohio State would be an excellent selection to help secure their franchise quarterback while also helping to open some holes in the running game.

Decker has the lengthy arms and sensational upper body strength that NFL scouts love and could be an immediate starter at right tackle, opposite Anthony Costanzo who is securing the left side.

Luck suffered a season of injuries in Indy and backup Matt Hasselbeck didn’t fare much better in terms of staying upright. The running game also struggled quite often to stay consistent. Fixing the o-line is a cure for both areas. It also would help an ailing defense to build a unit that can help extend drives and keep the defenders fresh as the game wears on.

Perhaps a solid guard prospect could inch their way up the boards, as this may be a more pressing need, but Decker helps in an area of need while also getting solid value here.
