Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is dealing with a torn MCL and will be week-to-week for the final two games of the 2015 regular season.

LeSean McCoy suffered an apparent knee injury in the Buffalo Bills’ Week 15 loss to the Washington Redskins. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that McCoy has suffered a torn MCL in his knee and is listed as week-to-week in the Bills’ final two regular season games.

With the Bills at 6-8 entering their Week 16 home game versus the Dallas Cowboys, McCoy may not play the rest of the season for Buffalo. However the Bills have not had a clean bill of health at running back all year and with head coach Rex Ryan favoring a ground and pound type of offense, he may have to play McCoy in either of the next two Sundays.

Buffalo is not making the AFC Playoffs again this season and it may be in the team’s best interest to sit McCoy out in the final two regular season games. However, should the Bills enter Week 17 a game below-.500 at 7-8, they may want to give it their all in their last game of the season, as that would be against AFC East rival New York Jets.

The Bills entered 2015 with a great deal of promise, thinking that this is the year that Bills end their league-worst 15-year playoff drought. While the defense had the personnel and the offense at times looked greatly improved, it will be at least another year before the Bills get back into the AFC Playoffs. Their last game in postseason play was none other than the Music City Miracle in Nashville during the 1999 NFL season.
