Charlotte Hornets

If only Kemba Walker was a few inches taller. Things would be vastly different if he was closer to 6’5” than 5’5”. Walker can dominate a game now. If he were bigger he would be unstoppable. Ah, such is life.

Besides Kemba Walker growing taller, the Hornets need to gain some consistency. Consistency would generate the buzz needed to keep the fans interested, while gaining new ones.

It is wishful thinking to believe that the Charlotte Hornets are anywhere close to an NBA championship. They are not that far away from becoming a perennial playoff team.

Many wondered the direction of the Hornets/Bobcats a few seasons ago. How the recent draft picks pan out will reveal what the front office planned on doing. So far, so good.

Losing forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the season hurts. On the flip side, establishing a true home court advantage has helped. This season is all about creating a winning culture. The Hornets are in the position to do by making the playoffs. Even if they wind up with a low seed and a short-lived postseason appearance, what Charlotte needs is to get in the tournament. Then they must keep things going by making the playoffs a consecutive season. Doing so will win the fans over and make Charlotte an attractive destination for free agents.
