Josh Norman fined $26K for actions on Sunday vs Giants
By Jack Crosby
Josh Norman has learned his punishment for Sunday and it’s a pretty hefty one for the wallet.
With all that occurred on Sunday during the game between the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers, much of the focus has been on the actions of Odell Beckham Jr. However, for as egregious as those acts were, people tend to overlook that Panthers cornerback Josh Norman was no saint in that one either, and because of that, he has received his punishment.
On Wednesday it was announced that Norman was fined a total of a little over $26,000 for two separate incidents on Sunday.
Again, while Beckham was the one that drew all the attention, Norman really did nothing to calm matters either, no matter how much he may or may not have been provoked. As difficult as it is to do, especially on the field at that time with all the adrenaline pumping, he could have taken the high road but he chose not to. Therefore, he too has to pay the price — literally.
Beckham has already received his punishment, which was a one-game suspension. However, later in the day on Wednesday Beckham will appeal the decision to suspend him this coming weekend, so we’ll know his exact fate sooner rather than later.
You’d expect that Norman will appeal his punishment as well.
