Sony will offer free admission to NFL players to see ‘Concussion’ any time that they want.

The highly anticipated and controversial movie Concussion will be released on Christmas, and while the NFL might not be excited about the film coming out, many are interested in seeing the film’s take on the concussion issue that has become one of the main issues regarding the league today.

With Sony getting ready to make their statement about head trauma, they are also extending an offer out to all NFL players in the league, by offering free admission to see their new film and perhaps learn about concussions while viewing it.

"“This is a movie for the players, so we wanted to give them a chance to see it before its nationwide release and free admission during its run in theaters,” said a statement from producers Ridley Scott and Giannina Scott. “The movie is so inspiring — Will Smith gives one of the best performances of his career as Dr. Bennet Omalu, a man who shined a light on the truth. The odds were stacked against him, but he had the truth on his side, and now his discovery is all anyone’s talking about. We think the players will enjoy watching this movie about Dr. Omalu’s incredible courage — courage that changed the game.”"

Plenty of players around the league have already seen the film, many of which have found the film to be really insightful. It’s a great gesture by Sony to allow the league’s players to see the film.

After all, they are the ones going out every week and subjecting themselves to the repeated head trauma. What will be interesting is to see how the league responds to the film’s take on the concussion issue.

It certainly sounds like the players are listening to what Sony is putting out in theaters. There’s already been a change in the way that players react to concussions, and it’s a trend that will probably grow going forward, as players continue to value their health.

It might just be a dramatization of the issue, but Sony wants to make sure that players are educated on the issue.
