Round 6: Cole Toner, OT (Harvard)

As far as potential late-round sleepers in the 2016 NFL Draft go, there aren’t going to be many that are as polished at their craft as Harvard Crimson offensive tackle Cole Toner. The senior lineman had a fantastic career dominating Ivy League opponents across the line from him and the Giants should be heavily intrigued about what he could potentially bring to the table in an area of need.

Toner has shown tremendous intangibles at the tackle position, able to position himself and use his footwork to dominate virtually every matchup that he was put in throughout his college career. In terms of technique, he already has most of the things down that you’d want from a pro prospect in terms of both run and pass blocking. The only minor area of concern is his body type.

The frame on Toner is great as he stands 6-7 and weighs in at about 300 pounds. While that’s definitely a great frame to build around as he matures into an NFL body, it’s going to take some more strength training before he’s likely ready for the grind of getting consistent time on an NFL offensive line. For a sixth round pick, though, Toner is a great option.
