We break down the NFL playoff standings going into Week 16.
The National Football League playoffs are only two weeks away, with ample teams still in the race for divisions and seeding. In the NFC, two spots remain open including the NFC East title and a wild card position. In the AFC, only the East has been clinched while all of the other spots remain open. The Cincinnati Bengals are certainly a playoff team, but whether they make it as a wild card or division winner remains to be seen.
Let’s look at how each conference is stacking up:

New England can clinch home-field advantage throughout the postseason with a win over the Jets. Meanwhile, should the Jets lose, the Broncos, Chiefs and Steelers can all punch their playoff tickets with a victory. Kansas City could take over first place in the AFC West with a win and a loss by the Broncos at home on Monday night against the Bengals.
For those wondering, the Chiefs hold the tiebreaker over the Steelers and Jets due to head-to-head and conference records, respectively. Pittsburgh bests New York on common opponents record.
And here’s a look at the NFC:

Carolina can clinch the first-overall seed with a win over Atlanta, which would also clinch a wild card spot for the Vikings. Arizona can also take a BYE week by beating the Packers at home. In the NFC East, the Redskins can take down the fourth spot by beating the Eagles on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
