The Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week!

If you are new to the article, thank you for reading! The ‘Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week’ column will be a weekly article about three quarterbacks that I believe could impact your DraftKings lineup in a positive or negative manner. The three categories are below:

Peak – A quarterback I like most this week, based on match-up, and their cost.

Weak – A quarterback who a lot of analysts are high on, or has a large price tag that will not be worth their cost.

Sneak – A quarterback sleeper for the week. A low-cost quarterback with boom potential.

‘Peak of the Week’ – Blake Bortles ($6,500) – Welcome to the ‘Peak of the Week’ club, Blake Bortles. Bortles, or ‘Bortle Service’ is coming into week 16 as the quarterback who has thrown the 5th most touchdowns in the NFL this season with 31.

You may recognize Bortle Service from a previous column as the ‘Sneak of the Week.’  Ever since that article, Bortle Service has been on a tear, throwing for 14 touchdowns (2.3 per), along with only 3 (0.5 per) interceptions in that 6 game span, while averaging 271.33 yards through the air.

These averages should go up as the Jaguars’ opponents on Sunday are none other than the New Orleans Saints. The Saints ‘defense’ was on display Monday night where they allowed 3 touchdown passes in the first half alone.

The Saints secondary continue to get beat time and time again, averaging a league high 2.8 touchdowns given up per game.  Not only are they giving up touchdowns at will, they are 3rd worst in the league in terms of passing yards given up per game at 289.5.

The Saints give up 24.54 fantasy points per game. It’s Christmas time, so pop your bottles and let Bortle Service win you some money as he is my ‘Peak of the Week.’

‘Weak of the Week’ – Russell Wilson ($7,200) – Wilson has been the hottest quarterback in the NFL over the past month.  He is tossing the ball around the field at an elite level.  He hasn’t  thrown an interception in his past 5 games, while throwing an absurd 19 touchdown passes, almost averaging 4 a game (3.8).

It is always tough when a quarterback plays their division opponent for the second time during the season, and that is what is on tap for Russell Wilson as he faces off against the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams held Russell to 1 touchdown and 251 yards in the first game of the season.  As we have seen in the past 5 games though, this is not the same offense.

The Rams give up the 6th fewest fantasy points (16.04) to opposing quarterbacks coming into this match-up. I like that to continue, as the Rams get after the quarterback with the likes of Aaron Donald and Chris Long.

Wilson is the 3rd most expensive quarterback in DraftKings this week, and I do not believe he will live up to the price, making him my ‘Weak of the Week.’

‘Sneak of the Week’ – Kirk Cousins ($5,500) – Kirk Cousins comes into this divisional match-up against the Philadelphia Eagles a hot quarterback. Cousins threw for 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions last week against the Buffalo Bills.

I know I am contradicting myself as I just mentioned above in the ‘Weak of the Week’ section that I do not like divisional match-ups for the second time in  a season, but I am throwing my logic away and going with my gut.

More from FanSided

In his past 4 games, Cousins has eclipsed the 300 yards mark 3 times. He is not turning the ball over like he has in the past, and is leading the Redskins to big wins.

The Eagles also factor into my decision as they are not good against the pass. The Eagles clock in at 3rd worst in the league in terms of giving up fantasy points (20.70) to opposing quarterbacks. The Eagles pass defense gives up 2.1 touchdowns per game.

If you are weary of popping bottles with Bortle Service, have Captain Kirk lead you to victory as he is my ‘Sneak of the Week.’
