Sitting in the middle of the pack after another near playoff miss, the Buffalo Bills are in a position where they need to draft wisely in 2016.

The 2015 NFL season has not been kind to the Buffalo Bills in Rex Ryan’s first season as head coach. Despite some encouraging signs on offense with quarterback Tyrod Taylor, the Bills’ defense has struggled mightily despite bringing in a well-respected defensive head coach in Ryan on board. In fact, the Bills’ defense has regressed from 2014 and was arguably the reason for Buffalo’s failures to stay in the AFC Wild Card race.

The Bills have allowed 20+ points in all but two games this season, including 30+ in half of their eight losses so far this year with a 6-8 record. All signs indicating that the Bills defense needs to be overhauled to fit the identity of Rex Ryan as the current group hasn’t got the job done under a new coaching staff in the slightest this season.

Unfortunately for the Bills, their 6-8 record means that they will once again be drafting in the middle of the pack this year and most likely in the bottom half of the draft unless they can manage to bottom out. With just six picks after trading their seventh-round selection, the Bills will need to scout well and pick the right players if they want to get over the hump in the ultra-competitive AFC East.

Following is a seven round mock draft exploring the options that the Bills have to add talent through the draft this year.
