Round 6: Tyler Marz, OT (Wisconsin)

The first thing that stands out when looking at Wisconsin Badgers offensive tackle Tyler Marz in terms of his NFL prospects is his size. At 6-7, 318 pounds, the big lineman already has the size to theoretically succeed at the next level. Moreover, that size lends itself to Marz having tremendous potential at the next level. The only reason he’s not a higher-rated prospect, though, is that he has obvious shortcomings in his game despite his size and potential.

Marz was never overwhelming over the course of his career with the Badgers. He performed well on the offensive line, yes, but he never was an overpowering force and always seemed more adequate than great in his role. He’s a very meat and potatoes type of lineman right now that doesn’t have any wowing traits for the position.

However, he’s worth a late-round flier for the Dolphins to try to add even more depth to an area of need. While Marz may not be a totally dominant force right out of the gate for the Dolphins, he has the traits both physically and in terms of being a player that could develop into a highly valuable piece to have around on the roster.
