The Miami Hurricanes thought it would be a good idea to throw a halfback pass late in the game against Washington State.

The Miami Hurricanes had plenty of chances to steal the Sun Bowl away from the Washington State Cougars, but made critical turnovers that ended up costing them the game.

At one point, they were deep in Washington State territory with a chance to take the lead before they fumbled the ball away. Their biggest mistake came when they decided it would be a good idea to run a trick play in a blizzard.

The Hurricanes tried to catch the Cougars off guard, when running back Joseph Yearby threw a pass, but instead the pass was wobbly and had no power behind it. Yearby was the same player that had just fumbled the ball minutes before.

The Cougars had no problem picking off the pass and that would seal the bowl game for them and Miami’s fate. The Hurricanes still have not won a bowl game since 2006, and they should be kicking themselves for how they handled the end of this game.

Whoever thought it would be a good idea to have a halfback throw a pass in the blizzard, should have their brain examined. Seriously, their quarterback Brad Kaaya was doing just fine.

Might as well throw it with the running back.
