(5-25). Previous: . los angeles lakers. 2. team. 20.
Mercifully, most people were asleep for the final game of the night on Christmas, as the Lakers took a 10-point “home” loss at the hands of the Clippers. For the sake of perspective, a 10-point loss actually exceeded expectations for the Lakers (they were 12.5-point underdogs in the game), but that alone indicates where Byron Scott’s team resides right now.

The Lakers are the worst defensive team in the NBA, and at 5-25, Los Angeles holds a 4.5-game “lead” on the field for the worst record in the Western Conference. There have been some minor signs of life, especially from Kobe Bryant, in recent days, but the Lakers should be quite glad that another team in the NBA (see below) makes them look better than they are.

The Sixers are being outscored by 13.6 points per 100 possessions on the year, and during that 12-game skid, the carnage becomes more clear at a net rating of -18.3 (!) points per 100.

We could honestly bring you a 2,000-word epic on just how wretched this team has been throughout the year, but it is the holidays. Let’s just agree that Philly is on pace to be the worst team in NBA history and move on from there.
. (1-30). Previous: . Philadelphia 76ers. 1. team
