QB-Johnny Manziel

The Money Manziel show in Cleveland should have the curtain come down on it after January 3rd. It just hasn’t worked out, and it’s probably better for everyone involved if Johnny gets out of Cleveland.

Manziel was supposed to be the savior of the Cleveland franchise after they drafted him in the first round last season, instead, you can add him to the list of failed Browns draft picks in recent years. Drafting Manziel in the first round was probably a reach anyway, but Manziel just hasn’t shown that he can be the guy.

Manziel was enjoying his celebrity, perhaps too much so, and didn’t put the time to be a leader of a team. He partied too much and ended up in rehab and even partied after that.

For the Browns, they can go back to the drawing board (again) and figure out who should be quarterback (again). For Manziel, maybe he can go somewhere that he won’t have to be a savior of a team, or maybe go home and be a backup for a certain owner who had interest in him in the draft.

In Manziel’s defense, there hasn’t been the leadership in Cleveland that has been conducive to his development. It may be best for his career to a go to place that can really help him develop. He also hasn’t had a ton of talent around him.
