Enes Kanter threw down a monster dunk on Nikola Jokic and then taunted him with a stare
Enes Kanter has been one of the more divisive players for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season as the center has been productive at times and a burden at other times. On Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets, Kanter certainly looked like an asset, or at least like a player who Nuggets center Nikola Jokic won’t be challenging at the rim again anytime soon.
In the fourth quarter of a tightly contested game, Russell Westbrook cut into the middle of the lane and received a pass. He quickly dished it to an open Kanter. Jokic made the right rotation and was at the rim to contest Kanter’s dunk attempt, but it was all for naught as Kanter just powered right through the Nuggets big man and put Jokic on a poster before giving him a good, long stare down:
Perhaps the best part about Kanter trying to taunt Jokic is that the Nuggets center is completely oblivious to the fact that it’s happening at all. He’s too busy trying to track down a fly ball so he can throw the inbounds pass.
Regardless of if the taunt was effective or not, the jam by Kanter most definitely was. If he could play with that kind of power on the interior with any sort of consistency, he might be a far less frustrating player than he has been thus far into his run in Oklahoma City.
