The Patriots might have screwed up their overtime coin toss, but the Jets don’t care.
One of the bigger stories from this Sunday in the NFL was the New England Patriots royally screwing up their overtime coin toss decision and basically giving the game away. It was a rough afternoon for Bill Belichick and the Patriots, as they had to come back against the Jets to force overtime in the first place.
But beyond that, Matthew Slater seemed to make the wrong decision on the coin toss in overtime. As the story went at the time, Slater called for the Patriots to kick while the coaching staff instructed him to say the team wanted to receive. After the game, Belichick backed his player up and said kicking was what they wanted to do.
The Jets Twitter account didn’t care one way or the other, trolling their division rivals at the first chance they got.

It’s not often that the Jets get a chance to troll their rivals, but when the opportunity pops up you know they’re going to take it. The Jets winning against the Patriots not only keeps New England from clinching home field advantage — for now — but it moves New York firmly into a playoff spot with the Steelers losing.
They’re still a week left in the season for things to get screwed up for the Jets, but they control their own destiny to the postseason and just need to win next week against the Bills to make it into the postseason.
