The Sacramento Kings recreated the famous Mean Joe Green Coke commercial with DeMarcus Cousins.

Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame defensive lineman Mean Joe Greene is best known or his famous Coke commercial besides his legendary play on the field. With NBA All-Star voting underway in 2015, the Sacramento Kings are doing whatever it takes to get DeMarcus Cousins to Toronto for the All-Star Game.

Every team does whatever viral ad that they can to get their guy into the big game. The Kings decided to make a hilarious viral ad with Cousins, which was a recreation of the famous Coke ad starring green, except it was for an All-Star bid instead.

In the video, Cousins is seen walking to the locker, when a young fan greets Cousins. Rather than throwing the kid a Coke, Cousins throws the young fan a sweaty headband, which is gross and funny as the young fan has the sweat of Cousins drip on him.

The kid doesn’t care about the sweat and looks on with glee. This energizes the crowd and Cousins, just like the famous Coke commercial.

Of all the viral ads to get a player in the All-Star Game, this is easily one of the best. It took a famous part of pop culture and made it even more hilarious.

Cousins stands a good chance of getting in as a center, but the ad alone should get him there. The other centers in the NBA are going to have to step up their game if they’re going to get in the All-Star Game. Cousins just raised the bar with his viral marketing.
